Join us as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.Location Type: The position is onsite in Nashville, TN.What We Offer:Competitive wages, medical benefits starting your first day, and paid parental leaveOpportunity to work on unique, custom automation projectsA collaborative, engineering-driven environmentCareer growth and skill development opportunitiesA role where craftsmanship and quality truly matterHow You'll Make an Impact:Collaborate with the ME project lead to write technical specifications including performance and runoff criteria for engineered systems.Interface with suppliers regarding system requirements, engineering changes, final deliverables, system acceptance and system setupTravel to supplier facilities for system acceptance testing requiredEvaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex featuresCollaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignmentsMay review the technical output of team membersInfluences team and department decisionsPossesses above average oral and written communication skillsWorks under minimum supervisionExercises independent judgment, innovates, and works autonomouslyWorks with the project team across disciplines to identify root cause and corrective action during machine debugTravel required up to 20% to visit customer sites, supplier sites, installation of equipment & other JR locations. Trips vary from overnight trips to international supplier and customer sites.Note: This list of responsibilities is not inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.What You'll Bring:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline, or an associate's degree (2-year) with experience from accredited program (ABET/EAC)5+ years' work experience as a Mechanical EngineerExperienced with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo)Proficient in the application of standard and advanced engineering principles, practices, and proceduresProficient in writing technical specifications and runoff requirements for suppliersHas sufficient knowledge to supervise othersBreadth and depth of experience to enterprise engineering problemsRelies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish tasksAble to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experienceViewed as a technical expert in the departmentCurrent or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferredDisclaimer: JR Automation requires candidates to successfully complete a 10-panel drug screen, physical examination, and background check.Company Overview:At JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, we discover potential, reimagine limits, and advance industry.
