Possess the ability to deal tactfully, effectively and courteously with co-workers, management and our customers.\n\nMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS\n\nExcellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them\nSolid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques\nAptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)\nRead blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary\nMake on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.\nProtect all nearby furnishings and building materials before and during every painting job, including carpets, cabinetry, outlet covers, lighting fixtures and landscaping\nPrepare walls and other surfaces for painting.\nReceive and complete work orders while maintaining accurate records on material and labor used.\nAble and willing to work independently and as a team member\nWorkdays and schedules are generally routine, however are subject to change. Be prepared/available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.\nPOSITION SPECIFICATIONS\nEDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of apprenticeship.\n\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver’s license.\nEXPERIENCE: Requires two to four years’ residential or commercial painting experience.\nSKILLS: Conscientious with great attention to detail. Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc. Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift / move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
