Packaging Operator NV (1st shift)Following batch card directions, will package seasonings and/or spices to meet customer's specifications.Follow packaging instructions on batch card to produce seasonings and or spices to meet customer's specs.Verify quality of product with QC Lab before starting run.Will have the Lead or Supervisor sign off the start and completion of run to ensure labeling is correct.Visually inspect product during process to ensure quality is correct. Operator is 100% responsible for the room including quality, sanitation, cleanliness and productivity.Fill out the batch card during the run and complete the card at the end of each run.Calculate total cartons/packages produced along with total weights and explain any difference between batch weight and total weight.Make sure all safety rules are followed in their room.Communicate with supporting departments (maintenance etc.) to keep machinery running and meet production requirements.Effectively maintain and or adjust machinery to keep weights correct during the run.Other duties as assigned.High School diploma/GED requiredLine or machine experience a plus1 year warehouse experience required; food manufacturing preferredStrong attention to detailStrong oral comprehension and expression skillsDependability with a sense of urgencyDemonstrated success at being a team playerDemonstrated communication skills at all levels, including managementDemonstrated basic math and problem-solving skillsStand on feet for the duration of the shiftWalk long distancesPush, pull, lift and/or carry heavy product such as equipment, bags and/or drums weighing up to 100lbsAble to extend arms with hands over the head or at shoulder heightHold, grasp, or turn with the use of handsTouch, pickup, and pinch with the use of fingersKneel, stoop or bend downwards and forwardAscend or descend ladders and platformsStand, work and walk at heights on platforms at least six feet or higherExpress or exchange ideas by means of spoken word.
