Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented KYC (Know Your Customer) Specialist to join our compliance team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough customer due diligence, verifying identities, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards related to anti-money laundering (AML), fraud prevention, and financial crime prevention. Your proactive approach will help safeguard the organization from financial crimes while maintaining seamless client onboarding processes. Duties Perform comprehensive KYC reviews by collecting, analyzing, and verifying customer identification documents and information in accordance with regulatory requirements such as the Bank Secrecy Act and securities law. Conduct risk assessments for new and existing clients, including screening against sanctions lists and politically exposed persons (PEP) databases. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with AML regulations, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), IAS (International Accounting Standards), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and other relevant standards. Maintain detailed records of customer due diligence activities, including document verification logs, risk ratings, and audit trails for internal audits and external regulatory reporting. Monitor transactions for suspicious activity using financial analysis techniques such as cash flow analysis, fraud detection tools, and transaction pattern recognition. Assist in the development and implementation of policies related to compliance management, internal controls, and fraud prevention strategies. Support periodic reviews of client accounts through internal audits and account analysis to ensure ongoing compliance with evolving regulations. Prepare detailed reports on compliance status, audit findings, and risk assessments for senior management and regulatory authorities. Stay updated on changes in securities law, tax regulations, financial concepts, and technical accounting standards that impact KYC procedures. Participate in training sessions on financial software systems used for account analysis, general ledger reconciliation, bookkeeping, and financial report writing. Requirements Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance roles with a focus on compliance management or KYC procedures. Strong understanding of financial concepts including GAAS (Generally Accepted Auditing Standards), GAAP, IFRS, IFRS standards, and tax accounting principles. Familiarity with regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act, SOX compliance requirements, securities law, AML standards, and fraud prevention techniques. Knowledge of financial statement preparation, financial analysis methods including cash management and cash flow analysis. Experience with financial software platforms used for account analysis, internal audits, or compliance monitoring. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for interpreting complex financial reports and identifying suspicious activities. Effective communication skills for preparing clear documentation such as compliance reports and audit findings. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or equivalent are preferred but not mandatory.
