This position serves as the primary technical and operational lead for the customer and acts as the bridge between sales, engineering, operations, and service delivery.This role combines responsibilities traditionally associated with Account Support, Pre-Sales Engineering, Technical Operations Engineering, and Project Management into a single client dedicated leadership position. The individual in this role is expected to provide strategic technical guidance, maintain strong customer relationships, ensure operational execution, and lead projects from initial discovery through ResponsibilitiesClient Leadership and Relationship ManagementServe as the primary technical and operational point of contact for the NCDOT accountAttend and actively participate in all customer meetings, project reviews, planning sessions, and coordination discussionsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with client stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and internal teamsProvide professional guidance and recommendations to customers regarding system design, implementation strategies, operational impacts, and technical solutionsMaintain consistent communication with the client regarding project status, risks, timelines, and expectationsSupport long term account growth through trusted partnership and technical leadershipPre-Sales and Solution DevelopmentLead technical discovery efforts, site evaluations, and requirements gatheringAssist the Account Manager with solution development, scope validation, budgeting, and technical recommendationsDevelop and review scopes of work, bills of material, system architecture, and implementation strategiesCoordinate with manufacturers, distributors, subcontractors, and internal resources during solution developmentIdentify project risks, operational impacts, material lead times, and implementation challenges during the proposal phaseEnsure proposed solutions align with client standards, operational requirements, and contractual obligationsTechnical Operations EngineeringProvide advanced technical oversight for all systems associated with the NCDOT accountSupport system configuration, integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation activitiesCoordinate technical resources and ensure installations meet company and client quality standardsReview and validate technical deliverables, programming requirements, testing procedures, and final system functionalityAssist with resolving escalated technical issues and operational concernsMaintain technical understanding of applicable systems, platforms, standards, and manufacturer requirementsProject ManagementMaintain full ownership of assigned projects from turnover through closeoutDevelop project schedules, resource plans, milestone tracking, and execution strategiesCoordinate labor, subcontractors, materials, and technical resources to ensure successful project deliveryManage project financials including labor tracking, billing progress, forecasting, and change managementEnsure all project documentation, reporting, and client communication is maintained accurately and consistentlyConduct regular project quality control reviews to ensure installations meet company and client expectationsIdentify and proactively resolve project risks, scheduling conflicts, scope concerns, and operational challengesEnsure projects are completed safely, efficiently, profitably, and in accordance with contract requirementsQualificationsStrong experience in physical security systems, structured cabling, intelligent transportation systems, networking, or related low voltage technologiesDemonstrated experience in project management, technical operations, system integration, or engineering leadershipStrong understanding of project lifecycle management including discovery, design, implementation, commissioning, and supportAbility to communicate effectively with clients, executive leadership, technical teams, subcontractors, and field personnelExperience managing customer expectations, project schedules, budgets, and operational prioritiesStrong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skillsAbility client outcomes and long-term account growth.Physical DemandsThis position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.Work EnvironmentThis role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware.
