We are seeking an entry-to-mid-level Field Arborist who is driven and eager to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. In this role, you will support arboricultural assessments, tree preservation planning, and field documentation across a variety of land development projects. You will work closely with our Senior Arborist and project teams, applying your knowledge of tree biology, urban forestry, and local regulatory requirements to deliver quality results on behalf of our clients.VIKA is a full-service Civil Engineering and Site Development consulting firm providing engineering, planning, surveys, landscape architecture, transportation, dry utility engineering, and subsurface utility engineering services throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and Northern Florida. As a fast-paced, dynamic land development firm, VIKA fosters a team-oriented environment where staff members benefit from comprehensive learning opportunities and advancement potential while being inspired and encouraged to make independent decisions and excel in a respectful, highly motivating workplace.This position is based at our Tysons, Virginia office with regular fieldwork at project sites throughout the region.What We Hope You Will Bring Excellent written and verbal communication skillsOrganizational and time management skillsA personal commitment to excellenceA desire to grow & advance Minimum QualificationsBS or MS in Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science or related field 0-4 years’ experience with a focus in land developmentWorking knowledge of GIS/CAD applications and tree assessment softwareTechnical proficiency in arboricultural practices including tree health evaluation, risk assessment, species identification, tree protection zone establishment, and preparation of arboricultural reports conforming to local jurisdiction requirements.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook)Your Impact ·        Technical Support: Assist Senior Arborist with arboricultural assessments and tree preservation tasks while applying foundational knowledge of tree biology, species identification, and urban forestry principles to assigned project phases under direct supervision.·        Field Documentation: Conduct tree inventories, collect field data, prepare tree protection plans, and develop arboricultural reports that conform to local jurisdiction requirements and industry standards while working under guidance of Senior Arborist.·        Coordination Assistance: Support communication efforts between clients, agencies, contractors, and internal departments while working toward ISA Arborist certification and participating in site meetings and tree preservation monitoring activities.·        Regulatory Understanding: Demonstrate foundational knowledge of local tree ordinances, environmental regulations, and protection standards applicable to assigned work, with developing proficiency in tree assessment software, GIS applications, and arboricultural best practices. Benefits VIKA is proud to offer a broad range of benefits including:Health, Vision & Dental Insurance401(k), including potential profit sharing Flexible Spending Account (Health, Dependent & Transit) Generous PTO including holidays, vacation, personal leave and community service daysBiannual BonusesTuition ReimbursementProfessional Development SupportAdvancement Opportunities Application Process: Qualified candidates should submit a detailed resume to: employment@vika.com
