The Systems Design Engineering team fosters and encourages continuous technical innovation to showcase successes as well as facilitate continuous career development.\n\nTHE PERSON:\nAs a Leader in Systems Design Engineering, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions. In this high visibility position, your software systems engineering expertise will be necessary towards product development, definition, and root cause resolution.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDrive development of Python applications, automation frameworks, and engineering tools.\nLead software development efforts and technical initiatives across multiple teams.\nIdentify and champion opportunities to leverage AI to improve engineering productivity and business outcomes.\nLead AI and emerging technology proof-of-concept (POC) efforts from evaluation through deployment.\nCollaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize work, and deliver high-quality solutions.\nMentor engineers and promote software development best practices.\nDevelop APIs, data pipelines, and workflow automation solutions.\nDebug and resolve complex software and system integration issues.\nEvaluate and adopt new technologies that improve team efficiency and innovation.\n\nPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:\nStrong Python development skills, including object-oriented programming, testing, and performance optimization.\nStrong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience building APIs, automation frameworks, and scalable software applications.\nProficiency with modern software development practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.\nExperience with cloud platforms such as Azure.\nExperience developing and integrating AI/ML solutions, including LLM-based applications and agent frameworks.\nProven ability to lead technical projects, POCs, and cross-functional initiatives.\nExperience with databases, data engineering, and API-driven solutions.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.\nSelf-starter with the ability to independently drive tasks and initiatives to completion.\n\nACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:\nBachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering\n\nLOCATION:\nAustin, TX\n\nThis role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.\n\n#LI-SL2\n#LI-HYBRID\nQualifications:\nBenefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.\n\nAMD does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies, or fee-based recruitment services.
