Minimum QualificationsValid Washington State teaching certificate with Special Education endorsementBachelor's degree with specialization in Special Education; Master's preferredThorough knowledge of applicable Washington State and Federal rules and regulationsAbility to relate to and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staffAbility to evaluate and write IEP's and familiarity with inclusion/mainstreaming essentialKnowledge of Washington State education trends and the use of technology in the classroomExperience working with students with social, emotional and behavioral challengesAbility to provide a highly structured learning environment and work with a teamExcellent communication skills, flexibility, and positive attitude requiredGENERAL INFORMATION: This is a pool posting for Special Education positions that are currently or may become available for the 2026-2027 school year. As part of a Professional Learning Community team, the Special Education teacher provides instruction to special needs students in Resource Room, Life Skills, and Choices settings, develops and implements IEP's, supervises paraeducators, and is responsible for case management ensuring school success.
