The developer will help re-engineer approximately 700–800 legacy Perl scripts into modern, maintainable, and testable solutions using Python and Apache Airflow.This is a highly hands-on development role requiring strong Python, production Airflow DAG development, Oracle/PL-SQL, ETL, Linux, and enterprise job orchestration experience.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess existing legacy Perl scripts and redesign functionality using Python and Apache Airflow.Develop, test, and maintain production-grade Python automation.Design complex Apache Airflow DAGs for ETL and enterprise workflow orchestration.Migrate legacy Perl, PL/SQL, and scheduler-based processes to Airflow.Build custom Airflow operators and sensors for Oracle, REST APIs, SFTP/FTP, file drops, and external triggers.Integrate Python applications with Oracle 19c and PL/SQL.Automate large-volume data movement across enterprise systems.Implement retry, error handling, alerting, audit trails, and recovery mechanisms.Troubleshoot failed and partially completed jobs across Linux, databases, logs, and file systems.Collaborate with DBAs and application teams on dependencies, data lineage, and critical processing paths.Participate in code reviews, CI/CD, documentation, and production deployment.Mandatory Skills & Qualifications5+ years of hands-on Python development.2+ years building production Apache Airflow DAGs.Strong experience with ETL/data workflow orchestration.Strong Oracle 19c database experience.Good understanding of SQL tuning and PL/SQL.Strong Linux/Unix experience, including Shell scripting.Experience moving large volumes of data between enterprise systems.Experience with enterprise job schedulers such as RunMyJobs, AutoSys, or equivalent.REST API integration experience.SFTP/FTP and file-processing automation experience.Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across logs, databases, and file systems.Ability to work onsite 3 days/week in Jersey City, NJ.Preferred SkillsLegacy Perl-to-Python modernization experience.Experience migrating scheduler-based workloads to Apache Airflow.Custom Airflow Operators/Sensors.Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, and CI/CD.Financial services/banking experience.Experience with financial data such as holdings, transactions, NAVs, or tax lots.Data governance, audit, and operational risk knowledge.About NetworkPediaNetworkPedia is a certified women-owned technology and talent solutions company, providing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, managed services, and specialized recruitment across North Americas and beyond.
