Job Description :Qualifications:Experience with ice resurfacer operations, and maintenanceExperience with building repair, maintenance, HVAC and operations, including knowledge of plumbing, electrical carpentry repairsFlexibility with work schedule, nights, weekends, and holidays when neededJob reliability, punctuality, diligence, dedication, and attention to detailCapacity to concentrate in a high stress, noisy game situations and crowds of peopleStrong technical aptitude with the ability to solve problems in various situations Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Docs Job Functions: EssentialEnsure ice and building are maintained in excellent working orderOperate (drive) and maintain ice resurfacing machines, ice edger, and all related equipment required for the maintenance of quality sheets of iceMaintain records of ice thickness, ice temperatures, humidity readings, ambient air readings and dew point readings as outlined on checklistsEnsure all equipment and tools necessary to fulfill ice maintenance tasks are always available and in good working order. Report any equipment deficiencies to the GMEdge ice on a consistent basis to keep ice surface levelIncludes periodic cleaning and wiping of all exterior surfaces of the machines Changing of blades on conditioner and lubricating required fittingsVisual inspection of resurfacer machine and its operationClean and maintain interior and exterior of facilityRepair broken or malfunctioning equipment, as neededWork within the framework of an annual expense budgetPrepare Ice Maintenance Schedule and documentationPrepare Resurfacer Maintenance Schedule and documentationPrepare ice and building evaluation summary for Sr. Facility Manager / GM, including needs analysis and estimates for all projectsParticipate in set-up and disassembly of hockey glass, dasher boards as neededResponds quickly to emergencies, involves additional assistance as neededServe as Manager-on-Duty when General Manager is not in the buildingResponsible for personal safety and the safety of those you supervise and others who are affected by your work and rink conditions.Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Facility Manager / General ManagerFollows Black Bear Sports Group policies and procedures SupervisorySupervise Resurfacer Operators and Maintenance Staff to assist with keeping ice resurfaced and facility clean and in good working orderOversee staff to execute all of the essential functions listed aboveCreate and Implement Ice Maintenance Training Programs for staffTrain Resurfacer Operators to drive resurfacer properly and keep detailed documentation regarding building logsIntellectual/Social/Physical Demands & Work Environment:The intellectual/social, physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including but not limited to: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.Physical Demands:While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the building and ice to perform essential functions (Zamboni and building maintenance) and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information. Work Environment:The essential functions of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time.
