ORTHOPEDIC PHYSICAL THERAPIST

The Physical Therapist provides medically prescribed therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability after disease or injury. They develop individualized treatment plans using exercises, manual therapy, heat, water, and electrical modalities, and perform diagnostic tests on muscles, nerves, and joints. Responsibilities include guiding patients through active/passive exercises, gait training, wound care, and educating on device use and postural techniques. They perform initial and ongoing evaluations, document progress, and may supervise staff or train students.Education requirements include a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (required after 2015), with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.Experience is preferred but not specified. Licensure as a Physical Therapist and required certifications include Basic Life Support (BLS) and licensure; pelvic health certification is preferred, to be obtained within 90 days of starting.Overall, the role involves direct patient care, team collaboration, and ongoing professional development in physical therapy techniques.
