Senior Power Plant Engineer (Controls Focus)

Review, design and modify/correct advanced control system architectures for turbines, generators, boilers, and auxiliary equipment.Program, configure, and optimize automation platforms such as PLC and DCS.Conduct system modeling and simulation to improve stability, reliability, and efficiency.Monitor and analyze plant performance to optimize operational efficiency and mitigate downtime. Troubleshoot automation, instrumentation, and control‑system issues in real time.Support operations teams in implementing improvements and system upgrades.Desired Skills and Experience* 7+ years of controls engineering experience * Process oriented engineering backgrounds such as:* Chemical Engineering* Mechanical Engineering* Environmental Engineering* Industry transferable backgrounds, especially from:* Oil & gas* Power generation* Nuclear* Experience with major OEM control platforms, including:* GE Mark V, Mark VI (aka Mark 6), and Mark VIe* Emerson Ovation* Siemens control systems (nice to have, not required)* ideally seeking a candidate with Emerson Ovation plus broad GE controls experience across Mark V, Mark VI, and Mark VIe units-Mark VI being the most preferredEOE Statement: Specialist Staffing Group is an equal opportunity employer.
