BMS Implementation Manager
BMS Implementation Manager – Data Center ConstructionOverviewThe BMS Implementation Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery andintegration of Building Management Systems (BMS) across Megawatt Construction’s datacenter projects. This role bridges design, construction, and commissioning to ensurecontrols systems are implemented correctly, integrated seamlessly, and delivered ready foroperation.Key Responsibilities• Lead implementation of BMS scope from design coordination throughcommissioning and turnover across multiple data center projects• Serve as the central point of coordination between design teams, controlsintegrators, electrical contractors, and commissioning agents• Drive alignment between design intent and field execution, ensuring systems areinstalled, programmed, and integrated in accordance with project requirements• Oversee integration of control panels, field devices, network infrastructure, anddistributed I/O systems across multiple buildings or phases• Coordinate with Project Managers and Superintendents to align controlsimplementation with construction sequencing, milestones, and critical pathactivities• Identify and resolve integration challenges early, including communication issues, network architecture conflicts, and system interoperability risks• Support and guide controls contractors during installation, programming, andstartup to ensure consistency and adherence to standards• Ensure readiness for commissioning by validating system installation, point-to-pointverification, network communication, and documentation completeness• Coordinate commissioning activities, supporting functional testing and driving issueresolution through completion• Track and manage implementation risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timelyresolution and minimal impact to schedule• Support development and enforcement of standardized BMS implementationpractices across projects• Collaborate with Quality and Construction teams to ensure installations meet bothexecution and quality expectations• Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and refiningimplementation processes across projects• Operate in a hybrid capacity, supporting both remote coordination and on-siteexecution (approximately 25–35% travel)Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalentexperience• 8–12+ years of experience in building automation, industrial controls, or MEPconstruction within mission-critical environments• Strong background in BMS/DDC and/or PLC-based systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley), including installation, programming, and system integration• Experience coordinating across design teams, field construction, andcommissioning groups• Working knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and integrated buildingcontrols• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, control diagrams, and systemarchitecture documentsPreferred Qualifications• Experience with large-scale data center or mission-critical construction projects• Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, and OPC UA-based architectures• Experience supporting commissioning and system startup activities• Experience with construction management platforms such as Procore or AutodeskACC Build• Certifications such as PMP, CAP, or equivalent• Experience supporting analytics platforms or system optimization toolsWhat Success Looks Like• BMS systems are fully integrated and operational at the start of commissioning• Minimal integration issues during startup and functional testing• Strong alignment between design, installation, and system performance• Implementation risks are identified early and mitigated effectively• Consistent implementation standards are applied across all projectsStraight takeThis role is:• The bridge between install and operation• Focused on integration, not just construction or QA• The one that prevents “everything is installed but nothing talks” situations
