1st Shift - Shop Machinist

Job Description Supervisory Responsibilities:This position does not directly manage or supervisor others. Position Summary This position will assist the maintenance department by making and machining parts for various areas across the Greenhouse/Farm.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate milling machine, lathe, drill press and other precision equipmentEnsure an inventory of parts are on hand to shorten down time throughout the facilityEnsure familiar with all areas of the greenhouse for quick response and supportRepair and/or replicate machined partsRead drawings and be able to recreate exact items from the drawingsLoad and unload trucks as neededDetail notetaking, including but not limited to precise measurementsUpdate computer systems to view and close work ordersWork with the shop team to maintain and a clean work area Other duties as assigned by management Minimum Qualifications1-year relevant work experience Comfortable occasionally working in heights above 6ftBasic computer skills Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of common hand tools and power toolsKnowledge of precision measurement tools Experience operating a lathe, milling machine, drill press, or similar machinery Experience operating or willing to be trained on a forkliftSelf-motivatedWelding experience, including mig, stick, and tig weldingJob Setting & Physical DemandsThis position is primarily outdoors but may be required to work between locations and within an indoor office environment for administrative duties, which may require the use of computers and standard office equipment. Fluency to read, write, and understand the English language is required. Must be able to work in all outdoor elements, including various weather conditions and with dust and allergens. Position requires long-term (up to 8+hours/day) ability for standing, sitting, squatting, bending, reaching, and twisting on a regular basis to fulfill essential duties. Position also requires utilization of fine motor skills, including but not limited to pinching, squeezing, and pulling. Candidate must have the ability to operate all machinery necessary within the department and across the facility, including the ability to obtain required certifications to operate such equipment as necessary. Candidate also must have the ability to work at heights over 6 (six) feet. Candidate must be able to utilize and communicate via a 2-way radioCandidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as business needs arise and during peak seasons. Employee must have the ability to lift 35 pounds unaided, and regularly lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
