Kennel Attendant

*Job Summary* We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to provide exceptional service to our furry clients and their owners. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment. *Duties* - Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and other pets. - Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and other facilities by performing regular cleaning tasks. - Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed. - Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor or veterinarian. - Support pet grooming activities, ensuring that all pets are clean and well-groomed. - Engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. - Assist with dog training sessions as required, reinforcing positive behaviors. - Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or assisting with larger animals. *Requirements* - Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required. - Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and handling skills is essential. - Familiarity with pet grooming practices is a plus. - Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. - Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care. - Experience as a veterinary assistant or in a kennel environment is advantageous but not mandatory. - A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential for success in this role.
