The Multifamily Estimating Manager is responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for multifamily residential construction projects. They will work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and develop cost estimates for materials, labor, and other project expenses. reviewing projects, breaking subsections out by division, and writing scopes to propose for bids.\nMinimize scope gaps and overlaps, in estimated budget costs for construction by studying plans and specifications for commercial multifamily and residential construction projects, which may include retail space.\nGather and analyze information from project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine project costs.\nConsult with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information and clarify project details.\nManage the bidding process and negotiate contracts with subcontractors.\nMaintain accurate records of cost estimates and bids.\nContinuously evaluate and improve estimating processes.\nResolve cost differences by analyzing and collecting information related to each geographic location’s property type location\nDraft and present budgets, reports, and project plans to teams and other relevant stakeholders.\nDevelop bids for construction projects.\nNavigate and understand current building codes.\nStay up to date with safety codes and improvements in construction processes and regulatory standards.\nComplete assigned tasks by deadlines and communicate any obstacles with your supervisor in advance.\nAttend training classes as scheduled and assigned.\nAdditional duties as assigned by supervisor.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n\nStrong analytical, interpersonal, writing and research skills.\nStrong math skills including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic.\nExcellent organizational and communication skills.\nSelf-motivated, resourceful, and proactive.\nAbility to work independently, effectively prioritize, and multi-task under pressure.\nUnderstanding of the private equity business model and real estate industry.\nExperience in building and using complex financial models.\nUnderstanding of general accounting principles, financial statements, and budgets.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel required.\nExcellent writer and verbal communicator.\nStrong work ethic, desire to learn and take on responsibility.\nAbility to navigate specifications and plans.\nProficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.\nAbility to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously and with accuracy.\nKnowledge of the most current building codes.\nDemonstrates consistent accuracy and thorough attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nExperience\n\nBachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or commensurate related field experience.\n5+ years of experience as a project estimator in commercial construction industry with multifamily experience strongly desired.\n3+ years in a supervisor role managing others.\nDemonstrated ability to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.\nStrong communication and negotiation skills.\nFamiliarity with construction materials, labor costs, and industry pricing trends.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.\nAbility to travel as needed.\nSuccessful completion of background check and drug screen is required.\nMust be able
