Captivation is looking for software developers who can get stuff done while making a difference in support of the mission to protect our country.\n\nDescription\n\nCaptivation Software is looking for a mid level systems engineer who will be responsible for multiple Machine rooms of all operational mission critical systems, a Lab and comms room.\n\nResponsibilities\nYou will need to maintain all spaces to agency standards, maintain access lists for scan access.\nMonitor and enforce agency requirements for Power Space and Cooling in the rooms.\nWork with Facilities personnel from time to time to stay ahead of the need for PSC upgrades to support newer hardware and customer needs.\nAssist customers with physical installation and decommissioning of racks of servers, network devices, and comms gear.\nWork JIRA tickets from SA/NE teams for hardware replacements – warrantied backfill or escorting vendor support techs into the rooms to work on hardware that is under warranty.\nA typical day will start by catching up on emails and JIRA tickets since you left the day before and working through any issues as well as checking monitoring of machine rooms and walking the floor looking for any alerts or issues.\n\nRequirements\nSecurity Clearance:\nMust currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in related technical discipline required.\nFifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience\nIAT level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M\nRequired Skills:\nExperience in supporting an agency machine room.\nExperience in racking and cabling systems for operational deployments\nStrong communication skills ability to work with small team, customers, leadership, facilities, and Vendors to identify and resolve issues.\nExperience with creating and updating machine room drawings in Viso or similar tool.\nExperience with hands on support for various hardware from key vendors like HP, Dell, Cisco Arista, Juniper etc.\nExperience supporting fiber (looking for breaks testing)\nDesired Skills:\nExperience managing/ leading a team in supporting an agency Machine/ Comms room.\nExperience on a System build/deployment team\nWork in an agency or Contractor Lab\n\nThis position is open for direct hires only.
