The candidate who is working in high-end residential and corporate sites, installing the finest quality audio, video, network wiring and components are also encouraged to apply for this job.\n\nA Control Systems Programmer / Lead Technician is responsible for programming control systems, planning, rack dressing, wiring, connecting, installation, commissioning and servicing a wide variety of audio‑visual systems and equipment. An AV Technician must excel in customer service skills and be capable of effective communication with clients, management and fellow employees.\n\nRequirements include above average proficiency in all responsibilities associated with the position and the capability to effectively work independently. An AV Technician will be required to interface with the Project Managers as needed and deliver consistent, accurate and timely results. It is expected that an AV Technician will provide direction and technical expertise to other team members.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nProgram, troubleshoot and update software to optimize system performance\n\nElan and Control4 configuration, setup, installation and programming\n\nAnalyze and ensure security and integrity of all systems and data\n\nProvide technical assistance and resolve related issues for clients and staff\n\nCollaborate with internal and support team to ensure client needs are met\n\nDevelop and implement system recovery protocols in the event of destruction of all or part of the system or components\n\nSolve problems that arise with client’s project\n\nReport progress of projects directly to management\n\nInitiate communication with clients and keep them updated on the status of project\n\nVisit job sites for evaluation\n\nAdditional Duties Could Include\n\nAssist with low voltage pre‑wire of new homes based on designs/blueprints\n\nInstall low voltage trim components (in‑wall/in‑ceiling speakers, wall plates, etc)\n\nInstall televisions and electronic components based on designs/blueprints\n\nPlan, assemble, install and terminate AV equipment racks and head‑ends with an emphasis on dressing the rack cleanly and professionally. Must be detail oriented.\n\nInstall, terminate, test and label a variety of low voltage and AV‑specific cable types: CAT5/6, coax cable, speaker wire, line‑level audio, etc.\n\nInstall and properly support a variety of AV components including but not limited to video displays, projectors, projection screens and speakers\n\nRead and understand blueprints and AV system schematic diagrams\n\nIdentify cable paths and relay site survey information to project managers\n\nPerform start‑up and debugging of AV systems. (Experience with Elan and Control 4 Systems is preferred)\n\nEffectively troubleshoot, diagnose and repair any system or component level equipment failures with ability to use and understand various test equipment including a digital multi‑meter\n\nEffectively perform “configuration level” programming of various systems\n\nMaintain records by documenting installation, time and material\n\nComplete all assigned tasks within the specified cost budget and schedule\n\nStay current with all mandatory safety requirements and follow established safety practices\n\nWillingly share knowledge and best trade practices with fellow employees\n\nPerform other related duties as required or assigned\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\n2+ years’ experience as an Elan and/or Control 4 Programmer\n\n3+ years’ experience as an Audio‑Video Installer or Low Voltage Installer working on residential and/or commercial projects.\n\nExperience working with clients and vendors in a professional manner\n\nMust be able to effectively explain technical concepts to non‑technical users\n\nOutstanding oral and written communication skills – clear, direct, detailed\n\nMicrosoft Office proficient is a must\n\nD‑Tools Experience is preferred\n\nElan and/or Control 4 Certified Programmer preferred\n\nStrong time management and problem‑solving skills.
