POLICE DISPATCHER
This position supports a 24-hour per day, 7-day per week operation. Work schedule is variable which includes nights, weekends, holidays, and when the need arises.
Tentative Dates for Dispatcher Testing Process
Written Exam will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 6:00 pm, Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 9:00 am, or Monday, June 29, 2026 at 6:00 pm
CritiCall Exam will take place between Monday, July 6, 2026 through Thursday, July 16, 2026
Interviews will take place Monday, July 27, 2026 or Wednesday, July 29, 2026

SUMMARY
Incumbents answer emergency and non-emergency telephones, prioritize the calls, and dispatch emergency personnel to crime scenes and calls for service. Incumbents also enter and maintain warrants, property files, and citations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or G.E.D., and one year customer service experience, and one year keyboarding experience. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to attain and maintain Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Terminal Operator Certification (TOC), Level A. Training and cost for this certification is provided by the Police Department.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview, an assessment exercise, and exam.
