To do this, we are building highly maneuverable re-entry vehicles that can loiter in orbit before precision landing back on Earth.\nWhat You'll Do:\nAs a Senior Software Engineer (DevOps) at Inversion, you will have an instrumental impact on the functionality and performance of our next-generation reentry vehicles. You will own key internal software development workflows and assist with the development and deployment of internal tools and critical services. Your impact will also include the selection, definition, creation, configuration, administration, and training of the DevOps processes involving multiple teams. The result of this essential flow will be the demonstration of flight software applications: executing on the world's first reentry vehicle designed for turning space into a transportation layer for Earth. You will be a key member of the Processing Core team, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, Processing Core.\nKey Responsibilities\nThis role is all-encompassing, and includes the complete lifecycle of the vehicle's software including:\nDevelop and own the group's DevOps procedures\nConstruct CI/CD pipeline(s)\nAssist with automation of developer workflows\nAssist in integrating tests, including HIL (hardware in the loop) and HOOTL/SIL (software in the loop) testing, integration testing, and unit testing\nAssist with the growth and development of the software organization, including conducting interviews and mentoring/onboarding other engineers and interns\nRequired Qualifications:\n5 -12 years of professional DevOps experience\nStrong scripting and tooling skills: Python, Bash, etc.\nExperience with common DevOps tools such as Ansible, Terraform/Open Tofu, AWS, etc.\nDirect experience standing up new CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Git, Gitlab, Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.\nFamiliarity working in a Linux environment\nWilling to learn new skills and step outside your job's role and your comfort zone\nPosition may require occasional extended work hours and/or weekend work\nOur office headquarters is located in Playa Vista, CA, and this position requires you to work onsite\nDesired Qualifications:\nFamiliarity deploying to both local and cloud environments with compliance requirements\nExperience with virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or virtual machines (Proxmox, VMWare ESXI, Xen Server, etc.)\nExperience working with Bazel, CMake, or similar. Extra points if you have experience with systems programming languages (C/C++, Rust, etc) and compilers\nPrior experience working in startups and small independent teams\nOur office headquarters is located in Playa Vista, CA. This position requires in office presence.\nThe California annual base salary for this role is currently $140,000 - $165,000. Pay Grades are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
