This hands-on position requires expert craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a masonry crew while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nMasonry Work & Craftsmanship\nLay brick, concrete block, and stone to build walls, partitions, fireplaces, chimneys, and other masonry structures\nRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and material requirements\nMix mortar to proper consistency and apply to bricks and blocks using trowels\nMeasure distances and mark reference lines on working surfaces using levels, plumb bobs, squares, and laser levels\nCut bricks and blocks to size using masonry saws, chisels, and hand tools\nInstall reinforcement materials including rebar, wire mesh, and wall ties as specified\nConstruct corners, leads, and closures with precision and proper bonding patterns\nQuality & Productivity\nMaintain consistent joint width, alignment, plumb, and level throughout all work\nMeet daily production targets of 450500 bricks per day or 100+ blocks per day while maintaining quality standards\nClean and finish mortar joints using jointing tools to achieve specified appearance\nInspect completed work for quality and make corrections as needed\nMinimize material waste through efficient cutting and planning\nSafety & Compliance\nFollow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and sitespecific safety requirements\nWear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times\nParticipate in daily safety briefings and toolbox talks\nReport unsafe conditions, near misses, and accidents immediately to foreman\nMaintain a clean and organized work area\nTeamwork & Communication\nWork cooperatively with foremen, fellow masons, laborers, and other trades on site\nCommunicate effectively about work progress, material needs, and potential issues\nAssist with training and mentoring apprentices and less experienced workers when assigned\nFollow directions from foreman and superintendent regarding daily work assignments\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience & Skills\nMinimum 2 years of experience as a bricklayer in commercial or residential construction\nDemonstrated proficiency laying brick and block with consistent quality\nKnowledge of various brick bonds (running, common, Flemish, stack)\nExperience mixing and working with various mortar types\nBasic math skills for measuring and calculating material quantities\nTools & Equipment\nMust provide own hand tools including trowels, levels, jointers, line blocks, and measuring tools\nProficiency using masonry saws, grinders, and power tools\nExperience working from scaffolding (tube and frame, Hydro Mobile)\nLicenses & Authorization\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States\nValid driver's license preferred\nAbility to pass background check and drug screening\nOSHA 10hour certification required (or must obtain within 30 days of hire)\nPreferred Qualifications\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings\n5+ years of commercial masonry experience\nBilingual (English/Spanish)\nNCCER Masonry certification or completion of apprenticeship program\nExperience with stone masonry and specialty finishes\nExperience on federal, municipal, or institutional projects\nOSHA 30hour certification\nPhysical Requirements\nLift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly (bricks, blocks, mortar)\nWork in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)\nStand, bend, kneel, and work in confined positions for extended periods\nClimb ladders and work from scaffolding at heights up to 40+ feet\nWear required PPE for extended periods\nReports To: Masonry Foreman\nEmployment Type: Full-Time, Hourly\nThis position offers the opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting our field operations while working with a dedicated team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
