Project Specialist 3 (Pomona, CA)

Location: Pomona, CA (Hybrid) Duration: 18-month contract Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm Pay Rate: $36.00 - $40.00/hr Position Summary Our client, a leading US utility, is seeking a Project Specialist 3 to support the scheduling and execution of a large portfolio of Substation Programs projects. The role requires strong project controls expertise and the ability to manage integrated schedules across multiple concurrent projects with varying levels of complexity. ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of 100-150 Substation Programs projects (each under $25M), including those with higher levels of complexityDevelop and maintain project schedules, incorporating schedules already in use across project phasesBuild and manage master integrated schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS), and earned value calculationsDocument delays and produce time impact analyses to support project reportingIdentify issues and solutions; collaborate with project teams to establish objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, and deliverablesApply project controls for schedule management, including forecasting, variance analysis, performance monitoring, and trend identificationDrive resolution of schedule issues, escalating to the Project Manager where appropriateGather data from multiple internal groups and contractors; serve as an effective communicator across stakeholdersTravel to job sites on an as-needed basis (typically less than once per month) Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or Project Management - or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience7+ years of experience in scheduling and capital projects/construction Knowledge & SkillsRequired:Proficiency in Primavera P6Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Visio) and SAPDesired:Utility industry experienceSubstation utility experienceConstruction management experience
