For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States .\n\nOur team provides a wide range of engineering services in support of projects across the country with renewable project scopes such as commercial and industrial installations focused on resiliency, efficiency and reliability as well as those utility scale projects seeking to power communities via interconnected networks or high-density installations. Areas of focus include solar photovoltaics (PV), including new technologies in agrivoltaics and floating PV, energy storage (e.g. BESS, supercapacitors), interconnection, wind repowering, next generation energy generation (e.g. fuel cells), new site development, data centers and more.\n\nFocused on a BESS experience, we are looking for a strong candidate with a power engineering background to promote our skills to new clients and maintain our existing client base.\n\nQualified candidates are those established technical leaders with a diverse background in distributed energy solutions committed to quality project delivery with an interest and curiosity in devising innovative solutions.\n\nThe responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:\n\nResponsible for the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff\n\nWork with Project Engineer and Project Manager on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities\n\nSolar PV and BESS system design including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground mount (fixed tilt and single-axis tracking) systems\n\nSolar PV and BESS system energy production modelling\n\nDeveloping construction and equipment specifications\n\nEngineering calculations (NEC maximum system voltage, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection sizing, utility disconnect requirements, voltage drop, and conduit sizing)\n\nEngineering development and support of construction drawing developments – one lines, network diagrams, etc.\n\nPV and BESS system cost estimation and payback evaluations\n\nDC and low to medium voltage power distribution design\n\nSupporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning\n\nParticipating in and presenting at meetings including those requiring occasional travel\n\nQualifications\n\nBA/BS in Electrical Engineering or Engineering related discipline and 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.\n\nDemonstrated experience in design and integration of utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nCurrent professional engineering license (PE) and ability to attain additional states by comity\n\n8+ years of relevant experience preferred\n\nProficient in industry software such as Homer, NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope\n\nMV AC Collection System Design Experience\n\nProtection and Controls Experience\n\nKnowledgeable in power system modeling in ETAP and/or SKM\n\nStrong familiarity with the NEC, as well as related codes such as IBC and NFPA 855\n\nFamiliarity with utility practices, industry codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP etc.).\n\nStrong written and verbal skills with an ability to lead engineering tasks\n\nExperience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.\n\nCapable of system financial estimation (Capex, Opex), PPA recommendation and calculating ROI\n\nField construction and commissioning experience\n\nBenefits\nAECOM offers comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of employees.
