Associate Attorney – Family LawSouthlake, Texas (In-Person)The Law Offices of Mark M. Childress, PLLC is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our Southlake office and work alongside Rick Mitchell’s litigation team.About the RoleThis position is ideal for an attorney with approximately 1–6 years of family law experience who is looking to further develop litigation and courtroom skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates should already have some practical family law experience, including participation in temporary orders hearings, mediations, contested hearings, or similar proceedings.The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating with clients while working collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff.Key Responsibilities:Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence.Prepare for hearings, mediations, trials, and contested proceedings.Assist with case strategy, organization, and client management.Communicate with clients regarding case updates and information gathering.Conduct legal research and analysis.Collaborate with paralegals and staff to maintain organized and up-to-date case files.Appear at hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as appropriate based on experience level.Qualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school.Licensed and in good standing with the Texas Bar.1–6 years of family law experience preferred.Experience attending temporary orders hearings, mediations, or other contested family law proceedings.Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume litigation environment.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn and grow.Compensation & Benefits:Competitive salary based on experience.Health insurance.Paid holidays and paid time off.401(k) with matching.Flexible and supportive work culture with periodic remote work opportunities.Mentorship and growth opportunities within an established family law litigation practice.We pride ourselves on maintaining a collaborative, hardworking, and client-focused culture.
