Field Leadership & Coordination\nSupervise and manage subcontractors and daily construction activities; provide direction to keep production on track.\nAttend on-site meetings and frequently lead them; run daily morning coordination meetings with subcontractors and VA/Owner representatives.\nCoordinate shutdowns, tie-ins/cutovers, and work windows to minimize impacts to campus operations.\nCommunicate effectively between the VA/Owner, subcontractors, and B2 home office to prevent delays and resolve field issues.\n3. Schedule & Performance Control\nMaintain field production flow and hold subcontractors accountable to the schedule by identifying slippage early and driving recovery actions.\nMaintain a rolling punch list with clear ownership and due dates; drive completion continuously (not just at the end.\n4. Documentation & Reporting\nProduce accurate, highly detailed daily reports with sufficient photos to document the full work area, including delays, unforeseen conditions, safety issues, quality concerns, and progress.\nProactively develop, address, and track RFIs to prevent stoppages and keep construction moving.\nMake real-time updates to redline/as-built drawings and ensure subcontractors do the same.\nMaintain daily sign-in/sign-out sheets and other required on-site logs.\n5. Safety Leadership (SSHO Duties)\nLead field execution to meet contract quality requirements; the Superintendent is responsible for quality and may be removed for non-compliance.\nSupport the project CQC requirements and three-phase control execution; coordinate inspections, punch, rework prevention, and documentation flow.\n6. Schedule & Look-Ahead Planning\nEnforce the site safety plan and safety standards for all personnel on-site.\nConduct routine safety inspections/audits, immediately address hazards, and document corrective actions.\nEnsure competent-person coverage and compliance for applicable high-hazard work (including excavation/trenching).\n7. Workmanship Oversight & Deliveries\nConduct routine field inspections of subcontractor work for compliance with approved submittals, plans, and specifications.\nReceive material deliveries; document and report discrepancies promptly.\n8. Closeout/Turnover\nLead commissioning and turnover activities as applicable to ensure timely handover, training, and closeout readiness.\nSupport change management in the field (tracking impacts, documenting issues/conditions, and communicating with the PM team).\nWork with Project Managers on monthly pay applications by providing percent-complete assessments and schedule updates.\n\nRequirements\n\nExtremely detail-oriented with excellent communication skills; able to submit daily progress reports with photos (high level of detail is mandatory).\nStrong field experience across commercial/industrial construction, with depth in underground utilities and site work (water/sewer, excavation/trenching, restoration), and working knowledge of other trades as needed (concrete, paving, striping, MEP coordination.\nHighly proficient with computers and able to learn new software quickly; strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook; MS Project preferred).\nSelf-starter who can lead without constant direction; capable of maintaining a productive, safe worksite and driving subcontractor performance.\nStrong problem-solving mindset; able to think creatively to resolve field constraints while protecting safety, schedule, and overall project success.\n10+ years of commercial/industrial construction experience.\nOSHA 30 (current within the last 5 years, or ability to become certified/recertified immediately upon hire).\n5+ years of Procore experience working for a General Contractor.\nProcore Superintendent certified or the ability to get certified immediately.\nConsent to background investigation, drug screening, and professional reference checks (as required for VA access/badging).\n\nBenefits\n\nWhen the Superintendent is between projects, you can live/stay wherever you prefer, as the daily work will involve working with the estimating and/or project management teams in preparation for the next project to start.
