The Data Science Engineer must be equally comfortable collaborating with the sysops, software development, and client services teams, as well as directly meeting with clients.\nThe Data Science Engineer will principally be focused on natural language processing. However, in keeping with TCDI’s Lean Six Sigma principles, they will also be familiar with classical statistical techniques, excellent data communicators, and always on the lookout for opportunities to use simpler methods to get the job done.\nEssential Functions:\nWork and Skill Requirements:\nEducation Requirements:\nOther Requirements:\nWorking Conditions and Physical Requirements:\nDesign, implementation, deployment, support, and maintenance of analytical information systems.\nConsult with internal and external stakeholders on the use of analytics technology to solve their business problems.\nMaintain documentation of the design and proper use of our software systems.\nContribute to and help maintain the product roadmap.\nParticipate in code and design reviews.\nDesign and implement automated tests.\nWork on data processing pipelines.\nPrepare and maintain data sets.\nProficient in Python, Java or Scala, and prepared to become proficient in all three.\nExperience with SQL databases. We primarily use PostgreSQL.\nExperience with Apache Spark. Knowledge of the Scala API is a plus.\nWritten and visual data communication.\nAbility to learn quickly and work independently with minimal direction and guidance.\nMaster's degree or bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in a related field.\nAbility to pass background checks\nEvening or weekend work sometimes required to meet client requirements.\nNormal office environment\nProlonged computer work daily\nThis customer-facing role requires excellent oral and written communication skills and professionalism.\nIf you are interested in joining our growing team then this may be the right opportunity for you.
