We design, prototype, build, and install industrial robotic systems that support small to medium-sized manufacturers across the U.S. Our proprietary RGS Studio software library enables advanced manipulation and control, continually pushing the boundaries of automation.\nWe are looking for high-performing team members who thrive in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment and are committed to solving complex problems that improve people’s lives.\nJob Description: As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Rigorous, you will report to the Engineering Manager. You will assist with active development projects, take on a research project, and contribute fresh ideas and perspectives to the Engineering team. You will attend project meetings, take notes, and participate in team discussions. Over the course of your internship you will provide general support to the team, helping to ensure high quality engineering and smooth operations.\nThis is an opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience, work alongside experienced professionals who are passionate about mentoring, all while being part of a fun and inclusive work environment that values your contributions.\nResponsibilities: Participate as a team member on a multidisciplinary engineering team.\nAssist in creating mechanical and electrical models of parts and assemblies using CAD software.\nGenerate accurate drawings (mechanical, pneumatic, electrical) with dimensions, tolerances, and annotations.\nReview and redline existing drawings for accuracy.\nFabricate and assemble mechanical, electrical and system components.\nTest and operate Rigorous systems, ensuring they meet requirements, while keeping good documentation.\nPerform personal project management using company tools (Jira).\nContribute to the organization and success of internal systems and processes at Rigorous.\nPerform additional tasks as requested to support team objectives.\nRequirements Open to College Junior/Senior or recent Bachelors graduate with a major in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics.\nUnderstanding of basic Mechanical and Electrical Engineering principles (Statics, Dynamics, Materials, Circuits, ).\nExperience using OnShape and other CAD software.\nExperience with hands on fabrication using machines (drill press, 3D printers) and hand tools.\nSolid organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nThis position is based in Williston, VT and may require occasional travel.
