Financial Controller

We are seeking a hands-on, operationally driven Controller to manage both executive financial strategy and day-to-day accounting for a fast-paced contracting and service business. This critical leadership role requires overseeing financial reporting, cash flow, budgeting, and compliance, while driving process improvements and cross-departmental efficiency. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, and auditors.Key Areas of Responsibility:Financial Strategy & Reporting: Manage general ledgers (cash and accrual), prepare management reports, analyze profitability, and support ownership with forecasting and financial planning.Operational Oversight: Streamline administrative functions, vendor compliance, collections, insurance administration, and client onboarding.Internal Controls: Enforce procedures, maintain accurate records, and ensure financial and operational systems function consistently across multiple entities.Contracting, Vendor Management: Review and manage vendor agreements, subcontractor agreements, purchasing agreements, and client contracts. Assist with procurement, vendor negotiations, and purchasing coordination.Other ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day company accounts,Manage daily cash balances, cash positioning, and liquidity monitoringPerform and oversee bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and entitiesOversee and manage AP, AR, & CollectionsAssist with financial planningOversee Budget forecasting and cash flow managementEnsure government compliance in all tasksQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 8+ years experienceExperience with time & materials costs like in HVAC, Plumbing, Law Firm industriesExperience managing multiple entities or related companies simultaneouslyExperience working directly with banks, attorneys, vendors, insurance carriers, consultants, and external accountantsExperience implementing accounting controls and operational proceduresDirect report experienceProficiency with QuickBooks
