Our Approach.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nDevelop an understanding for the specific mechanical engineering requirements per project\nStudy and become familiar with the elementary system drawings\nConveyor manifests\nEngineering hours estimate\nProject contract requirements and options\nProvide technical interface with customer’s project representative(s)\nProject scope definitions\nContract change orders\nCustomer specifications / standards.\n3D model reviews\nDevelop and maintain a mechanical engineering schedule that provides timely delivery of material to fully support an installation schedule.\nFirm grasp of project contract documents including clarifications and exceptions. Execute the project within the budget and hours in the contract estimate.\nProvide technical support for vendors, field installation personnel, and engineering subcontractors as related to inquiries\nHost and support weekly meetings with project team members and customers\nDelegate and monitor tasks given to engineering team members on regular cadence\nMaintain project-specific requirements while applying general knowledge of conveying systems, conveying equipment and customer general specifications and standards\nInterpret and ensure compliance with customer specifications.\nCommunicate project specific information with other MHS departments including project management, purchasing, electrical engineering, field installation and fabrication department.\nRelease drawings for installation and fabrication\nCreate material purchase requests\nRelate information regarding changes to scope of work for the project as they occur.\nCommunicate status updates to engineering management on a regular cadence\nBe cognoscente of areas for professional development, cost reduction, quality improvements and enhanced customer service.\nCheck drawings provided by mechanical designers for accuracy and provide feedback for corrections as needed.\nPerform or assist in directing engineering analysis as determined by project needs in disciplines including structural, mechanical power transmission and fluid power.\n\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\n\nWorks well in a schedule-driven environment\nComplete detail-oriented work producing above average results\nRead, understand, and apply customer specifications\nCommunicate effectively with customers, vendors, and co-workers\nAbove-average interpersonal skills\nAbility to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks in an effective and timely manner, organize your own work, participate in setting priorities, and meet critical time deadlines\nUnderstand and practice good time management\nAbility to multi-task and work on more than one project at a single time\nEffectively lead and mentor a project team of 5-12 engineers and designers\nExperience with Microsoft Office, such as Outlook and Excel are required\nFamiliar with AutoCAD and Inventor, Navisworks, and BIM is a plus\nExperience with Microsoft Project is a plus\nExperience with power transmission equipment and steel fabrication is a plus\n\nEducation and Experience:\n\nThree to Five years of material handling equipment experience preferably within the conveyor systems industry\nExperience with executing and support medium to large projects\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering and design\n\nTravel Requirements:\n\nSome domestic travel required +/- 10%.
