Position OverviewWe are seeking Journeyman Electricians to join our growing team in Austin, TX. Our electricians install, maintain, and repair electrical power, communications, lighting, and control systems.As a Journeyman you will:Execute electrical wiring plans for lighting, intercom, and other systemsInstall electrical apparatus, fixtures, and alarm systemsInstall safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels)Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring component compatibilityAssemble and install conduits, then connect wiring through themPerform preventative maintenance by inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cablesDiagnose electrical hazards or malfunctions and repair or replace damaged unitsRequirements5+ years of electrical experience in commercial, or industrial settingsTenant Improvement experience (Class A)Ability to complete projects from start to finish independentlyExperience with lighting control systemsProficiency in conduit installation, wiring, panel systems, and troubleshootingValid driver's license with a satisfactory driving recordTDLR Journeyman Electrician LicenseWillingness to pass a drug screeningAssociated Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong communication and customer service skillsAbility to accurately identify wires and perform electrical testsProblem-solving and critical thinking skillsKnowledge of circuits and electrical systemsTime management and ability to meet deadlinesCore Job CompetenciesWorks harmoniously with others to complete tasks efficientlyExpresses ideas clearly in verbal and written formFollows instructions accurately and processes detailed information effectivelyConsistently on time and accountableSupports new and improved methods and technologiesPlans tasks effectively and allocates resources wiselySets and achieves challenging goalsWorking Environment & Physical RequirementsStanding for extended periods and climbing ladders/scaffoldsWorking in loud environments alongside other tradesExposure to dust, dirt, heat, and wet conditionsLifting and carrying materials up to 75 lbs.Travel (20-30%) may be required per project needsOvertime and extended hours may be necessary to meet deadlinesAerial lift operation proficiency requiredTools & Equipment UsedDrill & Impact SetElectrician tool pouchPliers, Wire Strippers, Screwdrivers, Nut DriversLadders, Drywall Saw, Utility Knife, LevelsElectrical Testers, Multimeter, Receptacle TesterTape Measure, Paddle/Spade Bits, MarkersBenefitsAt Edge Electric, we are committed to the well-being, professional growth, and financial security of our employees.
