{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"08ca2befaa718a70b1d6d73d","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/08ca2befaa718a70b1d6d73d","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/08ca2befaa718a70b1d6d73d","title":"Mechanical Engineer I","description":"Description:\n\nJOB SUMMARY\n\nThe Mechanical Engineer I is responsible for researching, planning, and designing stations and machines using calculations, mechanical principals, and proven practices to create semi/fully automated assembly and test systems.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n\nResearches and analyzes data such as customer request for quote, customer specifications, and PMD’s proposal to develop or determine feasibility of design or application.\nWork within design hour constraints, schedule constraints, and overall machine budget constraints.\nWork in a collaborative environment to make sure the designs developed are the most cost effective and will meet the customer’s requirements.\nDevelop/review concepts to confirm the design will meet required performance metrics including cycle time, yield, uptime, CPK and Gage R&R.\nDesign mechanisms, stations, machines using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks).\nWorks with vendors to obtain competitive quotes for major purchased components.\nCreate detailed fabrication drawings for all custom designed parts.\nCreate detailed assembly drawings identifying each individual component\nCreate a complete Bill of Material for each design/station.\nRelease completed designs to Project Management\nSupports fabrication, assembly, debug and machine qualification activities to ensure design conforms to customer requirements and specifications\nObserve safety procedures.\n\nOTHER DUTIES\n\nMaintain a clean and orderly work area.\nAny other task assigned by management within scope of position, federal and state regulations.\nRequirements:\n\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\n\nAssociates or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.\nGeneral knowledge of manufacturing process preferred.\nWorking knowledge of Solidworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel and internet research.\nOccasionally required to travel up to 5%.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES\n\nEffective verbal and written communication.\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures.\nAbility to calculate engineering formulas including deflection, moment of inertia, stress, along with applying concepts of algebra and geometry.\nOrganized\nDetail oriented\nAbility to work independently and to collaborate on a team\nCreative/Innovative\nTime management skills\nAbility to take direction\nAbility to apply mechanical engineering principals.\nAbility to interpret instructions which are written, oral or drawn.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
