Production Planner

About The RoleThe Production Planner will plan and provision or control raw and semi-finish stock for customer orders which best utilizes semi-finish and finished goods resulting in the timely manufacture of these products in developing and maintaining high standard of customer service both internally and externally.Qualifications Required And Preferred)Education: Associate’s degree (P), or equivalent planning experience (P)Experience: two plus years of Warehouse or Manufacturing Planning (P), Planning / Scheduling / Productions Control (P), Manufacturing (P)Areas of Knowledge: Scheduling Experience (P), System Knowledge (P), Manufacturing or Warehouse Experience (P)Skills: Typing or Keyboarding (R), Windows Based Software Experience (R), Organizational Skills: Attention to Detail, Thorough, Complete (R), Good Communications (R), Strong Math Skill: Volumes, Lengths, Widths, Areas, Diameters, and Elongation (R)Role ResponsibilitiesBe aware of and practice, 100%, all safety procedures throughout the plantReceive, systematically, material within 24 hours of physical receiptPlan, route, audit, and issue maximum amount of material available within planning guidelinesProvide backup coverage for other areas assigned including Production Planning ManagerWork changes, back orders, cancellations, and shippers within 24 hours of receiptAnswer inquiries within 24 hours of receiptContinually assist in the development, updating and streamlining of base routingsContinually assist in the development and streamlining of current systemsKeep department informed of special procedures, changes or new developments in base routings, a specific customer, specification, or product
