You will perform structural analysis, assist with construction documents, and support project teams throughout all phases of design and construction. Working closely with senior engineers and architects, you will deepen your technical expertise, gain broad exposure to building systems, and progress toward professional licensure in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nAssist in the design and preparation of structural construction documents for multi-family, mixed-use, and residential developments.\nPerform engineering calculations and structural analysis under the supervision of senior engineers.\nSupport the design of mid-rise wood-frame structures, structural steel framing systems, reinforced concrete systems, transfer slabs, shear wall systems, flat plate construction, composite slab (Com-Slab) systems, light-gauge steel framing, and shallow and deep foundations.\nDevelop structural details and support project documentation throughout all phases of design.\nCollaborate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and owners to coordinate project requirements.\nRead and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, technical documents, and engineering reports.\nParticipate in project coordination meetings and assist in resolving design and constructability issues.\nCommunicate design intent and technical requirements clearly to contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.\nConduct site visits and field observations during construction to verify conformance with design intent.\nReview shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals for consistency with structural design documents.\nAssist in documenting field observations and preparing clear, concise field reports.\nSupport project teams in addressing construction-related questions and challenges in a timely manner.\nLearn and apply firm-wide technical standards, procedures, and quality-control processes.\nAttend in-house training sessions and continuing education programs to advance technical and professional skills.\nWork toward obtaining professional licensure (EIT/PE) while adhering to professional and ethical engineering standards.\nContribute to a collaborative, energetic office culture by engaging with colleagues and participating in team activities.\n\nJob Type & Location\n\nThis is a Permanent position based out of Montclair, NJ.\n\nPay and Benefits\n\nThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr.\n\nIndividual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.\n\nFull benefits guide to be provided\n\nWorkplace Type\n\nThis is a hybrid position in Montclair,NJ.\n\nApplication Deadline\n\nThis position is anticipated to close on Sep 14, 2026.\n\nAbout Actalent\n\nActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
