This individual will lead the design and development of complex, high-performance web applications using ReactJS while helping establish scalable front-end architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.\n\nThe ideal candidate combines deep hands-on React expertise with architecture, technical leadership, and client-facing communication skills. Candidates must be local to the New York City area and available to work onsite one to two days per week.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n* Architect, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using ReactJS.\n* Ensure application performance, responsiveness, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.\n* Define front-end architecture, technical standards, coding practices, and development processes.\n* Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to develop end-to-end solutions.\n* Lead and mentor front-end engineers while remaining hands-on with development.\n* Design reusable React components and shared libraries.\n* Integrate applications with RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and state-management solutions.\n* Review code and ensure adherence to quality, security, performance, and accessibility standards.\n* Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize complex front-end applications.\n* Participate in client discussions and present technical recommendations, progress updates, and potential risks.\n* Support Agile delivery timelines and technical project planning.\n* Evaluate emerging front-end technologies and introduce appropriate improvements.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n* Seven or more years of front-end development experience.\n* Advanced, hands-on experience with ReactJS and its ecosystem.\n* Strong experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Redux, and React Router.\n* Experience architecting scalable, responsive, enterprise-level web applications.\n* Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and state-management libraries such as Redux or MobX.\n* Experience with modern build tools such as Webpack, Babel, NPM, or Yarn.\n* Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring front-end development teams.\n* Strong understanding of application performance, code quality, and reusable component architecture.\n* Knowledge of web accessibility standards and development best practices.\n* Strong client-facing and cross-functional communication skills.\n* Ability to work onsite in New York City one to two days per week.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n* TypeScript experience.\n* Next.js or other server-side rendering experience.\n* AWS or Azure experience.\n* CI/CD pipeline and web application deployment experience.\n* Experience with Jest, Enzyme, Cypress, or similar testing frameworks.\n* Experience delivering solutions within Agile development environments.\n* Retail or e-commerce industry experience.\n\n*This position is available on a W2 basis only.
