Together, we pursue a shared mission to create a more sustainable future.\n\nJob Description\n\nJob Summary:\nThe Material Handler ensures inventory control management and warehouse operations for environmental services facilities, handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials safely, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.\n\nKey Characteristics:\n\nManage receipt, storage, and distribution of materials including hazardous and non-hazardous items\nOperate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently\nMaintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock counts\nMaintain warehouse organization and cleanliness\nDependable, accountable and diligent\nGood communication and teamwork skills\nTroubleshooting and problem-solving skills\n\nDuties & Responsibilities:\n\nReceive incoming shipments of goods, often using forklifts or other equipment to unload trucks and other delivery vehicles.\nThey verify that the items received match the accompanying documentation.\nThey may also inspect items for damage before moving them to designated storage areas.\nMaintains accurate, neat and complete records of all calibration/operation logs and reports.\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards\nUse warehouse management systems for inventory tracking\nReceipt, storage, issue and stock control of materials in the warehouse\nMaintains all reagent and chemical inventory in the calibration room\nAssist Material buyer in cycle count, blind and yearly inventory\nReceiving, issuing parts listed for plant and field use.\nResponsible for stocking spill kits, fire locker and housekeeping of waste management areas.\nResponsible for rebuilding, testing all configurations of Cla-Vals and dosing pumps\nHandling of potentially hazardous chemicals\nResponsible for all hazardous chemical storage areas, deliveries, tank levels and dilutions during the shift.\nMaterial handlers follow safety procedures when operating equipment and handling materials.\nThey may also perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure it is in good working order.\nThey maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that loading and docking areas are clear.\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\n\nRequired:\n\nCommunication Skills\nComputer skills, experience with ERPs\nOrganizational Skills\nTime Management\nTrouble Shooting\nForklift certification (or ability to obtain)\nAbility to lift 50+ pounds regularly\nKnowledge of OSHA regulations\n\nPreferred:\n\nAt least 2 years of experience in a comparable manufacturing or warehouse environment involving chemical handling\nERP experience in SAP\nKnowledge of Water Technology\nKnowledge of the lab, works with the lab technician and performs quality control checks\nOperates yard-mule and forklift as business needs.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation & Experience\n\nRequired:\n\nHS Diploma, GED or equivalent.\nAt least 1 year of experience and knowledge of warehouse management, forklift operation and /or resins and water treatment experience.\n\nPreferred:\n\nAS Degree in Business or Supply Chain\nWarehouse Management knowledge\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nAbility and willingness to perform physical duties such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, working at elevated heights, and manual dexterity\nAbility and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities\n\nAdditional Information\n\nAt Veolia, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
