Account ManagerLocation: Sandy Spring, MD (On-Site)Reports To: Vice President of Business DevelopmentDepartment: Business Development & Client SuccessEmployment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryMetro Grounds Management is seeking a relationship-focused Account Manager to join our growing team in Sandy Spring, Maryland. This position serves as the primary point of contact for an assigned portfolio of commercial landscape clients while actively pursuing opportunities to expand services, strengthen client partnerships, and support company growth throughout the DMV region.The Account Manager will work closely with Operations, Estimating, and Business Development teams to ensure exceptional service delivery, client retention, and revenue growth. This role combines customer relationship management, property inspections, enhancement sales, contract renewals, and business development into a highly visible position within the organization.This is an on-site position based in Sandy Spring, Maryland, with regular travel to client properties throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.What You'll DoClient Relationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial landscape accounts.Build trusted relationships with property managers, facility managers, HOA boards, asset managers, and ownership groups.Conduct regular property walks, site inspections, and client meetings.Proactively identify and resolve client concerns.Ensure a high level of responsiveness and customer satisfaction.Account Growth & Business DevelopmentIdentify opportunities to expand services within existing client portfolios.Develop and present proposals for landscape enhancements, seasonal color, irrigation improvements, drainage solutions, tree care, and snow services.Generate referrals and introductions through existing client relationships.Support new business development efforts and strategic growth initiatives.Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities within the company's CRM platform.Quality Assurance & Operational PartnershipConduct routine quality inspections of assigned properties.Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure contract expectations are consistently met.Effectively communicate client priorities and service expectations to field teams.Monitor service performance and recommend improvements.Contract Renewals & RetentionLead annual contract renewal discussions.Develop retention strategies for key accounts.Conduct client business reviews and strategic planning meetings.Identify risks to client retention and proactively implement solutions.QualificationsRequired2+ years of experience in account management, business development, commercial landscaping, property management, facilities management, or related industries.Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.Experience presenting proposals and managing customer relationships.Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout the DMV region.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.PreferredCommercial landscape industry experience.Experience working with commercial office, industrial, HOA, multifamily, healthcare, or institutional properties.Experience with Aspire, HubSpot, or similar CRM platforms a plus, but not required.Bilingual English/Spanish a plus but not required.Key Performance IndicatorsClient Retention RateContract Renewal RateEnhancement Sales RevenueNew Revenue GeneratedClient Satisfaction ScoresProperty Inspection CompletionReferral GenerationCRM Activity & Pipeline ManagementDesire to learn and grow Why Metro Grounds ManagementAt Metro Grounds Management, we believe great landscapes are built through strong partnerships, exceptional service, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
