The advisor prepares a complete and accurate cost estimate for labor and parts. The advisor establishes follow-up time and oversees the flow of service drives. An Express Service Advisor position is responsible for high customer interaction and coordinating repair order completion time. As a Service Advisor, you are the front line of our customers. To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication and follow-up skills and be passionate about caring for the customer to ensure an exceptional customer experience! Essential Functions: Greet each customer promptly and courteously and let customers in line know they will be helped soon. Communicate with service customers to determine the nature of the mechanical problems. Secure customer agreement before repairs; cover cost estimate and approximate time when vehicle's work will be completed. Obtain customer and vehicle data. Schedule appointments using dealership software. Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles following the manufacturer's specifications, using maintenance menus. When necessary, communicate the need for additional work, explain the details to the customer, including the extra cost and time consideration, and document the repair order correctly. Follow up on the progress of each repair order during the day and contact customers by telephone regarding changes in the estimate or time promised. Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in process and appointments and return phone messages promptly.
