Harkcon, Inc. is seeking a Master Human Factors Engineer to provide Human Systems Integration (HSI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) Department (V). The successful candidate will support human-centered engineering, systems design, analysis, and evaluation activities within Government research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) and systems acquisition programs.Education RequirementsMaster of Science (MS) degree from a recognized engineering curriculum with a concentration in Human Factors, orMaster of Science (MS) or Master of Arts (MA) degree in Engineering Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, or a related field with a Human Factors curriculum, orMS/MA degree in Human Factors programs recognized by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society (HFES).Experience RequirementsTwelve (12) years of experience in Government-related Research and Development (R&D), Test and Evaluation (T&E), and systems acquisition programs, andSeven (7) years of relevant experience in at least six (6) of the following areas: Human Factors Engineering Project Acquisition supportHuman Factors Test and Evaluation (T&E)Platform Systems/Subsystems IntegrationHuman Factors Engineering Program PlanningHuman Systems Design Studies and AnalysisTraining Systems DevelopmentConducting Human Factors in Science and Technology (S&T) and R&D both in the laboratory and field settingsTactical decision-making processes, and individual and team performance assessmentWorkload assessment Reviewing and preparing HSI engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation Usability assessment and design Design of habitability spaces (berthing, messing, galley, etc.) Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health (ESOH)/OSHA requirements and design Habitability requirements and design Threat assessments and their impacts on personnel survivability Human-computer interaction and graphical user interface design MIL-STD-1472 evaluation and compliance Ergonomics evaluation and compliance, including maintenance accessibility Human research and experimental design Security RequirementsMust possess an active or interim SECRET clearance at the time of hire.Work Location Primary work will be performed at Harkcon’s teammate's Dahlgren, VA facility, with potential coordination at other Government or contractor sites as required by the contract.
