This role is pivotal in driving the success of our microfrontend UI development initiatives, leveraging React and TypeScript to create seamless, high-performance user experiences, as well as site reliability engineering initiatives, leveraging cloud-native technologies and methodologies to create robust, high-performance systems. The Lead Engineer, Software Development will utilize their extensive experience in Spring, React, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and observability tools to enhance system efficiency and reliability. By joining our team, you will directly contribute to the advancement of our platform, ensuring we remain at the forefront of the industry and deliver exceptional value to our clients.\n\nDesigns, builds, and maintains full stack Java and React applications for the MSP DX (IMT) with an emphasis on maintaining a reliable and scalable platform. Our Software Engineers develop and manage cloud-native systems in an Agile SDLC. Responsible for the development and maintenance of Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, observability frameworks, React micro frontends and Java microservices.\n\nResponsibilities\nProvides full-stack Java design and development for projects involving application development, infrastructure projects involving site reliability, cloud-native technologies, and migrations.\nDevelops front-end applications utilizing React (TypeScript) in close collaboration with a UX team, ensuring the responsiveness of the application.\nDesigns and develops APIs necessary to support front-end functionality and/or be consumed by other partners.\nImplements GitOps practices using ArgoCD to manage infrastructure as code.\nDesigns and develops monitoring and observability solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, and OpenTelemetry (OTEL).\nManages service mesh technologies like Istio and Kiali for traffic management and observability.\nUtilizes Crossplane for managing cloud infrastructure through Kubernetes.\nParticipates in software and reliability design ceremonies and analyzes system needs to determine technical requirements.\nWrites technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.\nDevelops and/or reviews test protocols for testing applications before user acceptance, with an emphasis on automated Unit Tests, Component Tests, and Scenario Tests.\nTroubleshoots operational failures in both test and production environments.\nMentors or guides the work of less experienced software and site reliability engineers.\nRemains current on industry standards in web development and DevOps disciplines.\nPerforms additional related duties as assigned.\n\nKnowledge and Experience\nBachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.\n10+ years of software engineering or site reliability engineering work experience.\nExperience working with Java or React development, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.\nExperience developing React (TypeScript) front-end applications.\nExperience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.\nAI based working knowledge is preferred\n\nPreferred Knowledge and Experience\nExperience using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Istio, Envoy, Jaeger, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar technologies.\nExperience using the Java JVM and with applications running in cloud providers (preferably AWS) and/or OpenShift.\nExperience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React.\nExperience with RESTful service development and working with microservices applications.\nExperience with Postgres SQL Databases and PL/SQL.\nExperience with modern observability frameworks.\nExperience with GitOps practices and tools.\nFamiliarity with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.\nFamiliarity with source code management tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira, or Git.\nProficiency with development techniques such as Test-Driven Development (TDD and BDD), Unit Tests, Component Tests, and/or Scenario Tests.\nExperience with webpack (bundle optimization, code splitting).\nFamiliarity working in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) leveraging Agile principles.\nExcellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.\n-: Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
