From helping families and individuals access programs that put food on the table, warm their homes, and find childcare to protecting those too young or too old to protect themselves, DHS is the team of people who ensure families and individuals in our community have what they need to live a stable life now and in the future.\r\nEconomic Services (a division within the Department of Human Services) is responsible for administering a range of critical public assistance programs including Cash, Child Care, Emergency, Energy, Food and Medical Assistance, as well as connecting customers to other vital resources and supports.\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nEligibility Determination: Accurately assess client eligibility for public assistance programs.\r\nCase Management: Process applications, conduct interviews, and manage client cases effectively.\r\nData Entry & Management: Perform data entry, utilize multiple databases, and maintain accurate records.\r\nClient Services: Provide excellent customer service to diverse clients, including those experiencing crises or challenges.\r\nProgram Navigation: Navigate complex program rules and regulations, and stay informed on program updates.\r\nCommunity Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community partners.\r\nQualifications\r\nBilingual (English/Spanish) language skills required, a bi-lingual skills test will be administered to confirm proficiency.\r\nHigh school graduate or equivalent\r\nAssociate's Degree in public administration, business, behavioral science, or related field, preferred.\r\nAt least two years full time experience in data entry, medical coding, order processing, bank teller, or other data input-centric roles; customer service; public assistance/human services or related fields or any combination of education, training and experience resulting in the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.\r\nCompletion of a degree program in business, behavioral science, or an appropriately related field may substitute for one year of required experience.\r\nPrior experience in the field of human services including working knowledge of state (specifically Colorado) human services databases/systems including CBMS and CHATS, preferred.\r\nMust possess a driver's license and be able to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 1 month.
