Join our team and contribute to our proactive approach in managing risks, allowing us to make informed decisions and thrive in an ever-changing market environment.Role DescriptionThe firm is seeking an experienced credit risk professional to join the Mortgage Structured Lending Credit Risk team. The role requires experience evaluating counterparties, residential mortgage and real estate collateral, securitizations and new products/structures. In addition to product expertise, the candidate must exhibit familiarity with models, effective management ability and excellent communication as the role requires extensive collaboration across various functions and with clients. Candidate must be able to work with business partners to structure and negotiate credit terms for residential real estate and mortgage warehouse transactions.Key Stakeholder ManagementBuild and maintain strategic relationships with origination and structuring teamsAct as intermediary between clients, business units, auditors and department headsPresent risk assessments and strategic recommendations to senior management & executive committeesProvide clear, impactful communication of risk issues to senior managementPartner with global teams across different jurisdictions and time zonesInfluence key decision makers on risk appetite and portfolio strategyRisk Management ResponsibilitiesReview and challenge transactionsOngoing monitoring of portfolio, collateral performance and marketsConduct on-site due diligence with counterparties to determine financial, operational and managerial capabilitiesWrite credit reviews to provide support for ratings and discuss risks and mitigants for transactionsOversee limit framework design and implementationGuide development of risk analytics and reporting frameworksContribute to regulatory capital optimization initiativesFoster collaboration across risk and control functionsSkills, Experience, Qualifications And Knowledge Required3+ years of relevant risk experienceStrong understanding of residential mortgage & real estate underwriting, or adjacent sectors (e.g., ABS)Proven experience managing stakeholder relationshipsTechnical KnowledgeUnderstanding of credit risk rating methodologiesKnowledge of risk metrics and limit frameworksFamiliarity with financial statement analysisBroad understanding of securitization structures and marketsCommunication & Influence SkillsExceptional ability to communicate complex risk concepts clearlyExperience presenting to executive committeesStrong negotiation and conflict resolution capabilitiesAbility to build consensus across diverse stakeholder groupsConfidence in challenging senior stakeholders constructivelyClear written & verbal communication for regulatory correspondenceAdditional RequirementsGlobal mindset and cross-cultural awarenessCrisis management and problem-solving abilities Nomura Leadership Behaviors Explore Insights & Vision: Identify the underlying causes of problems faced by you or your team and define a clear vision and direction for the future.
