This position requires a detailed knowledge and practical application of environment, health and safety regulations in the U.S. and North Carolina requirements. This individual will provide EHS support to operations including engineering, non-manufacturing and manufacturing.Responsibilities include:Keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.Maintaining appropriate metrics, evaluating data trending, and providing data input to management reviews, with a view to continuous improvement and enhancement of EHS performance.Implementing EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures. Identifying location-specific requirements for each area and participating in the development of related programs and policies.Developing training programs and conducting training to comply with regulatory corporate EHS initiatives.Supervising the incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis and ensuring corrective actions are completed.Conducting environment, health and safety audits and risk assessments. Participating in external EHS compliance audits and loss prevention audits.Coordinating the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel resulting from risk assessments, compliance audits or loss prevention audits.Liaise with facilities maintenance and property management personnel to ensure appropriate fire and life safety controls are in place and maintained.Overseeing required permitting submissions for air, water, and land jurisdictional requirements.Serving as site contact point for government inquiries relating to EHS.Functioning as a technical EHS resource for management and the safety committee. Leading the site safety committee.Participating in the site's Continuous Improvement/6S activities.
