The analyst will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing new systems, as well as modifying and maintaining existing infrastructure. The role supports the institution’s administrative operations, including the Offices of Financial Aid, Admissions, Registrar, Alumni Affairs, Development, Human Resources, and Business & Finance.\nThis position requires strong technical expertise in server management, backups, and security, along with the ability to manage IT projects and communicate effectively with leadership and campus stakeholders.\nExamples of Duties\nManage day-to-day IT infrastructure operations including storage systems, email services, Active Directory, and backups.\nOversee and execute project tasks, timelines, and deliverables related to IT infrastructure.\nPresent technical initiatives and updates to the Director of ITS and the Assistant Vice President for IT.\nManage and maintain servers, network hardware, and applicable security solutions.\nImplement and enforce IT policies and procedures, including standards for system architecture, disaster recovery, and security compliance.\nMonitor systems for performance, integrity, and availability; review logs and ensure timely completion of backup operations.\nTroubleshoot and recover from system failures, coordinate response and communication with stakeholders.\nApply system patches and software updates; configure and deploy new services as needed.\nDevelop and maintain system installation and configuration procedures and documentation.\nMaintain compliance with CIS and/or NIST cybersecurity frameworks where applicable.\nProvide end-user support and technical troubleshooting for both Windows and Mac OS environments.\nTypical Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. May substitute the equivalent in a combination of education, technical certifications, training, or work experience.\nMinimum 3–5 years of professional IT experience, including managing servers, systems, and IT operations.\nStrong understanding of system design, network infrastructure, and multi-platform environments.\nProven ability to lead technical projects and manage priorities under pressure.\nExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with executive leadership and functional users.\nAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.\nMust be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.\nMust be committed to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.\nAbility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for system upgrades or emergencies.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nSupplemental Information\nExperience managing infrastructure in Windows Server 2012/2016 environments.\nProficiency with Linux server environments.\nFamiliarity with Windows and macOS desktop support.\nWorking knowledge of firewalls, networking protocols, and system security.\nExperience with Dell blade server setup and configuration.\nUnderstanding spam mitigation techniques.\nFamiliarity with Ellucian Banner or other higher education ERP systems is preferred.\nEmployer\nHampton University\nAddress\n200 William R.
