Your work will directly support Schwab’s ability to deliver secure, resilient, and high-quality technology solutions that help clients plan for and manage their financial futures.\nWhat you have\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nDemonstrated enterprise application development experience using Java/J2EE and object-oriented engineering practices.\nAbility to design, build, modernize, and support scalable Java applications using Microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-ready architecture patterns.\nDemonstrated Technical Leadership through architecture guidance, design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and cross-team technical influence.\nStrong Systems Engineering experience designing secure, resilient, highly available solutions that support business-critical platforms.\nStrong Experience with Spring Boot, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Splunk and cloud-based platforms.\nExperience\ning DevOps practices, CI/CD principles, production deployment discipline, and continuous improvement across the SDLC.\nExperience with database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or equivalent relational database platforms.\nAbility to partner effectively with product, architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into secure and maintainable technology solutions.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in financial services, retirement services, brokerage, banking, or another highly regulated industry.\nExperience leading modernization initiatives, cloud migration, legacy platform transformation, or platform evolution efforts.\nExperience with Docker, Grafana, Google Cloud, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, BDD, or TDD.\nExperience developing event-driven or asynchronous applications on cloud platforms.\nExperience establishing engineering standards, architecture governance practices, technical design patterns, and review processes.\nExperience leveraging AI-assisted development tools or modern software engineering practices to improve developer productivity and solution quality.\nLearning Opportunities\nIn this role, you will continue developing deeper expertise in retirement technology platforms, enterprise architecture practices, cloud-ready modernization, production resiliency, and secure software delivery.
