Only candidates currently residing within commuting distance or already planning a move to the Bay Area will be considered.\n\nJob Description\nAn Overaa Project Engineer (PE) is a contributing member of the project team and is instrumental in project success through engagement with craft field operations and supporting project management duties. As a member of an individual Project Team, the PE is responsible for the smooth administration of their project(s) including close collaboration with the Superintendent and the Project Manager to support the needs of the project. The PE participates in scheduling, estimating, cost control, document control, and jobsite production with the overall goal of achieving the maximum profit. Project Engineers may also be assigned responsibilities in estimating, business development and preconstruction.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nDevelop and manage submittal process\nManage and Process RFI’s\nPCO Development and management of Change Order Process\nSubcontract Management\nProject Document Control\nDevelop and manage procurement tracking log\nSupport Project Startup\nAssist Superintendent in preparation of the weekly 'Short Term Look Ahead Schedule' to monitor progress and assure all work is scheduled for maximum efficiency.\nAttend and participate in all project meetings.\nManage project closeout including punchlist, O&Ms, spare parts, and Warranties\nSupport project team in development of project specific workplans.\n\nAttributes\nPassion for construction.\nStrategic thinker and team player.\nThrives in a fun and entrepreneurial environment.\nExcellent communication and organization skills.\nProactively and collaboratively works to solve problems.\nConducts all business activities according to company values including loyalty, humility, reliability, and a can-do attitude.\n\nOverall Responsibilities and Authority\nThe PE works equally and directly for both the PM and the project Superintendent.\nPerforms project duties with an appropriate sense of urgency.\nWorks as a team with assigned superintendent(s), Project Managers to build projects in a controlled manner.\nThe role of the PE on a project is to administer project business including document control, startup activities including buyout, submittal management, RFI processing, Subcontractor coordination, and supporting the technical and administrative needs of the Superintendent.\nPrimarily located on the project site. If assigned to the site, it is expected the PE at his desk ready to work at the beginning of the work day on site.\nActs as a company representative to the Owner on assigned projects.\nMaintains strict adherence to Company processes and procedures.\nStudies the prime contract with the owner and is responsible to know our rights and obligations under the contract.\nUnderstands the notice provisions of the prime contract and follows strict adherence to them to preserve our rights and reduce our risk.\nThe PE is empowered to escalate issues to more senior managers to seek greater company support at the earliest sign of jeopardy of the project's success.\n\nQualifications\n2 - 5 years of relevant project experience in of all phases of construction.\nDegree in Construction Management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.\nOrganized with a systematic approach to achieve high level results.\nExcellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.\nExpertise in QSP, SWPPP, LEED and sustainability is a plus.\nKnowledge of Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Primavera, Navisworks, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint project manager software is a plus.\n\nPrivacy Notice\nThe anticipated salary range for this position is $ 95,000 to $ 115,000 per year.
