Duties
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s
Monitor and document vital signs, health status, and changes in condition to ensure optimal patient care
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
Administer medications following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
Conduct patient observation and report any concerns or unusual behaviors promptly to healthcare professionals
Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning tasks and ensuring infection control protocols are followed
Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia or Alzheimer’s care, utilizing specialized techniques for safety and comfort
Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
Assist with transportation or outings within the community as needed, ensuring safety at all times
Follow detailed care plans developed by healthcare teams to deliver consistent, personalized support
Qualifications
Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home & community care, or group homes is highly preferred
Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and HIPAA compliance
Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are required; additional training in Alzheimer's or dementia care is a plus
Experience with working with people with developmental disabilities or autism enhances your ability to connect effectively
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or resident’s equipment
Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare teams, residents, and families
