Ascend is a fast growing and profitable company with opportunity for advancement.\n\nJob Responsibilities\nInstalling and maintaining the Oracle RDBMS\nManaging/maintaining challenging database storage structures and backups\nSetting up database user accounts\nRegularly updating database security protocols\nQuery tuning and debugging application issues related to database use\nRefactor database maintenance processes for improved performance, stability, and scalability\nWork with our team of developers, analysts and data scientists\nCommunicate clearly and effectively (orally and in writing) with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders\nContribute to scoping and design discussions\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree (B. A./ B. S.) from four-year College or University in computer engineering or computer science\nStrong understanding of relational databases under high transaction rates\nOracle/PostGreSQL RDBMS\nExperience with Azure/OCI-hosted databases\nHigh availability/redundant RDBMS configurations\nComplex SQL Language\nPreferred Qualifications\nStrong background in programming related to applied mathematical, engineering, and physical sciences\nPerformance computing, including distributed and parallel computing technologies\nOracle and PL/SQL\nMicrosoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)\nMDX/XMLA\nAbility to communicate with impact and confidence, both orally and in writing\nStrong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic\nKnowledge of wholesale electricity markets; passion for renewables and storage\nExperience with code review, architecture, development, and promotion processes\nCompensation: $100,000 - $130,000\nNegotiable based on qualifications and experience.
