Job Summary This position requires a variety of availability, including weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends, as schedules may change weekly depending on operational needs.Salaries: Pool Lifeguard I - $17.19, Pool Lifeguard II - $18.70, & Pool Lifeguard III - $19.51POOL LIFEGUARD IGeneral lifeguarding duties and teaching swimming at the Aquatic Center or the Houston Sworn Aquatic Center. Includes rescuing swimmers in distress, administering first aid, enforcing City Ordinances, and general maintenance of pool, grounds, and restrooms. Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service. May include assistance with water exercise, learn to swim, or swim team programs. Performs other related duties as required.POOL LIFEGUARD IIGeneral lifeguarding duties at the Aquatic Center or the Houston Sworn Aquatic Center. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Presents a professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service. Enforces all facility rules, teaches swimming lessons, leads water aerobics and other aquatic classes, general pool and facility maintenance and cleaning, including daily chemistry testing, and applies chemicals to maintain water quality standards. Conducts facility & equipment safety checks for daily operations and either corrects on the spot or reports to the Supervisor for remediation. May include coaching recreational programs. Answers phone and assists patrons with general inquiries. Assists full-time staff during in-service training for part-time staff. Performs other related duties as required.POOL LIFEGUARD IIIGeneral lifeguarding duties at the Aquatic Center or the Houston Sworn Aquatic Center. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency. Directly involved with competitive aquatic programs at the facility, including setting up, operations, and oversight. May supervise part-time staff in the absence of the Aquatic Supervisor. Enforces City Ordinances, teaches swimming lessons, leads water aerobics and aqua therapy classes, general pool and facility maintenance and cleaning, troubleshoots and makes minor repairs to filtration and pool chemistry systems, including daily chemistry testing, and applies chemicals to maintain water quality standards. Conducts facility & equipment safety checks for daily operations and either corrects on the spot or reports to the Supervisor for remediation. May include coaching recreational programs. Collects pool fees using RecTrac software and completes all revenue forms and reports for daily register closing.
