Our Environmental Department specializes in environmental permitting and compliance management as it relates to the electrical utility construction industry. Our team brings expertise to construction projects in the areas of permitting, onsite inspection and monitoring, erosion and sediment control implementation, mitigation planning, restoration and revegetation, and environmental training.\n\nThe successful candidate will work on a variety of office and field tasks, including managing environmental compliance on construction projects. Candidate must work well in a professional and team-oriented environment.\nExcellent written and verbal communication, client interaction and organizational skills, as well as proficiency with MS Office applications required.\n\nLocation Requirements:\n\nThis is a field position for a project that will be starting on or around mid-June 2026 and extending through 2028. The project is in remote areas of southern Idaho and eastern Nevada.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nConduct environmental training for construction crews.\nManage subcontractor resources.\nConduct field monitoring and inspection for environmental compliance (hydrocarbon spills, erosion and sediment control, sensitive resource mitigation).\nFollow plans to meet mitigation requirements and suggest amendments as necessary.\nUpdate and maintain construction SPCC and SWPPP.\nInstall and/or maintain erosion and sediment controls as needed.\nInteraction and effective communication with all levels of Project Management staff, field superintendents, clients, and vendors.\nConstruction will occur 6 days per week.\n\nRequirements:\n\nBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Natural Resources, Biology, or another related field.\nWork experience in a related/relevant field (stormwater, geology, hydrology, biology, etc.).\nGeneral knowledge of environmental laws, regulations and permitting at the Federal, State and local levels.\nExperience conducting and documenting fieldwork.\nCapable of performing strenuous fieldwork and walking long distances.\nEnvironmental permitting experience helpful.\nAbility to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with various levels of staff and personality types.\nProficiency in MS Office.\nStrong attention to detail and organization.\nMust be able to work outside and travel, as necessary.\nMust have a valid state driver’s license.\n\nCompetitive salary and excellent benefits package including employer paid medical, dental, vision, 401(k), personal time off and holiday pay.\n\nWilson Construction Co. is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.\n\nSmoke & drug free environment.
