Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting the various functions for Quality Assurance and supervising quality assurance personnel. This position is responsible for facilitating/recommending /implementing corrective actions while working with customers, internal personnel and suppliers. Position includes participating in Six-Sigma projects were applicable along with participating in the Plant Quality Board and other engineering/production taskforces as needed. Also includes internal quality system auditing to IATF16949/ISO9001/ISO14001, completing requested PPAPs for the customer(s), performing GR&R, maintaining plant calibration system and measurement system analysis (MSA).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Customer quality liaison for any and all quality complaints or rejects, i.e. respond as primary contact for nonconforming material (NCMs) and corrective actions (CARs).
· Primary auditor for internal quality audits (IATF16949/ISO9001/ISO14001).
· Facilitate, recommend, and help implement corrective actions. Corrective actions include working directly with customers, plant personnel, and suppliers. Write formal CAR responses to customers as needed.
· Maintain customer quality certifications where required.
· Review and disposition nonconforming material. This includes authorizing disposition of customer product through MRA process.
· Participate in Six-Sigma projects, the Plant Quality Board and other engineering/production taskforces as needed.
· Train quality personnel on appropriate tests and measurements.
· Complete customer requested PPAPs on time. Interpret customer engineering drawings, specifications, and provide unit conversions as needed. Assist/train on product, die, and template measurements using both manual (check fixture) and CMM techniques.
· Maintain company calibration system and measurement systems analysis (MSA) such as GR&Rs, attribute studies, bias, linearity, stability, etc. Calculate and maintain process CPK data.
· Write/modify/train on DFMEAs, PFMEAs, control plans, QA procedures and work instructions. Maintain/update test software where applicable.
· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:
· Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering related field, or ASQ certified quality engineer
Experience Required:
· Minimum 3 - 5 years quality assurance experience
· Experience in quality management systems, ISO9001 as a minimum, prefer IATF 16949
Knowledge/Skills Required:
· Knowledge or experience with any or all of the following: Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, Theory of Constraints, Kaizen, SMED.
· Knowledge in the use and application of key quality tools (DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D, etc.)
· Ability to communicate with customers, supervisors and employees.
· Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
· Ability to promote a positive atmosphere and encourage teamwork in the workplace, strong communication skills and the ability to develop employees.
· Use appropriate balance of delegation and “hands on” involvement.
· Computer literacy, mechanical aptitude.
· APQP and/or other appropriate skills as defined in ISO manuals.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or as needed.
Pay: $78,202.60 - $94,179.48 per year
